Hand Painted Jackets and Shoes
Here at Anya's Studio, I don't just paint onto the usual canvases. I can also hand paint your very own jacket or shoes, making them totally unique and personal.
If you'd like any more information or would like to commission a painted jacket or pair of shoes, please do not hesitate to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Whether it's a way of adding something special and personal to your big day or a way to give new life to an old jacket or pair of shoes lurking in your wardrobe, I would love to create something totally unique just for you.
What can you paint onto?
I can paint onto leather, faux leather, denim, suede, jersey, in fact pretty much any fabric you can imagine.
What paint do you use?
It depends on the surface that I'm painting. For leather and faux leather I use high quality leather paints which are sealed with an acrylic finishing coat. For all other fabrics I use a mixture of fabric paints and acrylics which are heat sealed to help them last.
Can I wash them?
Again it depends on the fabric. Leather paints are water tight and long lasting. They cannot be machine washed but can be gently wiped with soapy water. Fabric paints are washable up to 30 degrees but I always recommend hand washing or a gentle machine cycle to keep the paints looking new for as long as possible. Do not tumble dry hand painted garments! Both types of paint will wear over time, just as the fabric will too, but this ageing will give character to the design.
Do you supply the jacket/shoes?
Whilst I will happily work with you to source an item, I recommend you buy the jacket or shoes yourself and send it to me then you know you are happy with the fit before I commence painting. I suggest you send the items via a tracked service as I am not liable for the items until they reach me.
How do I place an order?
Firstly, have a think about what kind of design you would like and get in touch via the email above. We can chat about the item you would like painting and design ideas. I will also give you a quote for the work which will include design, painting and return postage, and a time frame for the work.
If you are happy to go ahead I will ask you to pay the amount quoted either via bank transfer or I can add a custom listing to the online shop. You will then need to send the item to me, via a traceable, insured service as I take no responsibility for the garment until it has reached me.
I will then send you a drawn up design, via email, to check you are happy and to make any amendments you wish. Once you are happy I will commence painting and will keep you up to date with progress photos.
When I have completed the item I will send you a final photo and I will send your jacket/shoes back via Royal Mail Special Delivery which is fully tracked and insured.
How long will it take?
The time will vary depending on how busy my schedule is and when I receive the item from you. Usual painting time is 3-4 weeks after receiving your item, except in school holidays when it may take longer. If you need the item for a specific date, such as a wedding, please let me know when you message, and I will try my upmost to accommodate.
How much will it cost?
This will vary from project to project depending on the amount of design work and painting time involved, but I will always give you a complete quote up front before you pay anything and before I begin the design process. Prices usually range from £50 - £350 and must be paid upfront, before painting commences.
Can you paint Disney/Marvel/Harry Potter etc characters?
Whilst I can paint in many styles, I will not take someone else's designs. This is stealing and an infringement of copyright which is illegal, would affect my business and I find morally wrong. When you come to me for a bespoke design it will be completely unique and 100% designed by me so you can guarantee no-one else will be wearing the same as you! I am happy to discuss working to a theme such as magic or fantasy but this will always be in my style and without using any copyrighted imagery, logos or wording.
